Chris Cornell pulls Download

Chris Cornell has cancelled his Download Festival appearance as well as the rest of his European tour.

The singer songwriter was scheduled to appear on the main stage on the Sunday night but has had to pull out citing recording commitments.

In a statement the singer said: "Due to an extended recording schedule, I will be able to perform in front of my European fans a few months later than expected. With that said, I plan on touring extensively through Europe and the rest of the world through 2008-2009."

Download organisers have yet to say whether or not they will replace the ex-Audioslave guitarist at the festival.

Smashing Pumpkins drop album concept

Zeitgeist', the last Smashing Pumpkins album, will be the last Smashing Pumpkins album.

Drummer Jimmy Chamberlain has announced that the band is no longer interested in the CD format anymore.

He says that although they will continue to make music, they will not record CDs.

In a statement at the Smashing Pumpkins website, Chamberlain has reassured fans that there will be more music. "The Smashing Pumpkins, will continue to write, record, release, and perform as long as we are able," he states.

"Some of you may have read bits of an interview that was done in confidence by yours truly in which I say that the Pumpkins probably won't record CD's anymore. What I meant by this is this: Although we may not use the "album" or "full length CD" as a format anymore, we will write and record music until we are dead".

Chamberlain's original comments were taken to mean that the band was finished. "We are not going away," he says. "I could go on about how I was stolen from, violated, lied to by some ignoble journalist, but what's the point?"

Stone temple Pilots DVD

It seems that Stone Temple Pilots plan to release a DVD of their April 7, 2008 private show at the Houdini estate in Los Angeles, where the band officially announced its reunion.

There is as yet no info regarding features, extras etc.

"This is home for us," guitarist Dean DeLeo told MTV.com after the band announced it would be heading out this summer on a full-fledged, 65-date reunion run. "I'm fond of our legacy, and I'm fond of our band — I'm a fan. I get off when I'm riding down the highway and an STP track comes on the radio. I get off on that."

The Game Confirms He Is Out Of Prison

After we recently reported that The Game had been released from prison, confusion began on whether or not he had in fact been released or if he had been transferred to a new prison. The Game has now come forward to clear up the confusion and confirm that he is in fact a free man.

The Game was apparently released due to overcrowding in the prison after he served just an eighth of his sentence, being eight days inside. Despite reports that he has been released, other hip hop sites questioned whether he had been transferred to another prison.

The Game has now came forward to apologize for the confusion.

"I apologize for the conflicting news on my release, but due to the sensitive negotiations on this matter I felt it appropriate not to give an exact date on my release," the statement reads. "I am truly grateful to my attorney, family and management for doing a great job in this respect. Upon my release, I went directly to the studio with producers Cool & Dre and recorded several records, including my street record 'Big Dreams.' Thank you to all my fans as well for the support."

A judge has declared sentence on Busta Rhymes following his assault on a fan and his former driver back in 2006. Busta has been sentenced to three years probation, and also, according to Associated Press 10 days of community service, a $1250 fine, court costs and compulsory enrolment in a drunken driving program. Busta pleaded guilty to assault charges, two driving infractions and also weapon possession. This came part of a plea deal to prevent him from entering prison.

As of Tuesday 18th March he began his sentence, under clear instruction by the judge that failure to abide by the conditions would result in prison time. "I have no problem being a good dude because that's what I am," Busta told reporters located outside the courtroom. The charges originated from incidents where he allegedly assaulted a fan that had reportedly spat on his car, assaulting his driver, Larry Hackett later that year and for driving under a suspended license whilst inebriated.
